This is Peter Strom

I’ve been on the board for now for over 20 years. Early in my career I became a pro-snowboarder.  Specialized in big kickers, half pipe and slope riding I’m always in search for the next big ride and thrill. With several awards and prizes in competitions I’ve always combined my riding with individual snowboard coaching from beginners to professional riders. Right now I’m riding with the Allian team together with Ingemar Backman and rest of the crew.

I was born in the north of Sweden with Riksgränsen around the corner. After some dedicated years as a hockey player I left the rink and jumped on to a snowboard. From that day I was hooked, and has been breathing and living for snowboarding ever since.

By the age of 18 some friends brought me to a competition were I got picked up by a few sponsors. The first one was Sims Snowboard and I started to compete for their team.
It has been a good mix of heaven and hell, traveling all over the world meeting homies for life, like Johan Olofsson, Ingemar Backman, Wolle Nyfelt, Forrest……and many more. It is a story of broken bones, heavy luggage , crashed rental cars , late check outs…..

I’ve had about 200 days per year on the snowboard the last 10 years.

Some favorites resorts:

Whistler
-Squaw Valley
-Les Deux Alpes
-St. Moritz
-Laax
-Sweden

Snowboarding for me is about:
A way of expression.
Travel, to ride new places, meet friends.
Snowboarding is to be able to ride everything that a mountain has to offer.

That’s why every moment on the snowboard is fun whether you are on a small hill in Stockholm or on the big mountain in Whistler. You don’t need fresh powder to be happy.

Camps to remember
- Superpipe camp with Allan Clark

- Craig Kelly Camp – Riksgränsen Sweden
Craig Kelly came to Riksgränsen to coach H-pipe at the end of May 93-94. We had midnight sun sessions. The way he rode pipe and coached the Swedish riders felt like introducing half pipe riding to Sweden for real! It was one of the biggest moments in my snowboarding career to see Craig ride, making 540′s back to back through the whole pipe. The result became a generation of crazy Swedish riders like Ingemar Backman, Johan Olofsson. It was a special camp with a special stoke thanks to Craig Kelly! The way he rode the pipe , coaching and shredding. Camp of Champion!
